Accorde is a Cambridge-based chamber choir which sings a wide range of music, both
a capella
and accompanied. We present 6-8 concerts per year in small to medium-sized venues, mainly to raise funds for good causes.
We sing because we love to sing! We perform a very wide range of short pieces, covering sacred and secular: classical, spirituals, folk and light music; with composers ranging from Tallis, Saint-Saens, Vaughan Williams and Elgar to Chilcott, Gjeilo, Whitacre and Joel.
The choir was founded in 2015, with Choir Leader Jan Moore. Since 2017 Andrew Foxley has been the conductor, widening our repertoire and deepening our understanding of each genre.
We have 4-6 singers per part, rehearse 7.30-9.30 pm on
Thursdays in Histon, and present about six concerts a year, mostly at weekends.
We'd be delighted to hear from anyone interested in attending or hosting a concert, or in joining the choir – please use the form on the Contact page.
